Flying

Located on the Costa Daurada, flights are available into Barcelona International Airport.  Other airports are Reus, or Girona, but these are between 45 minutes and an hour and half by car.

FROM BARCELONA AIRPORT

By rail
The train from the airport takes you directly to Barcelona Sants where you can connect to the Barcelona Metro service. Every train from the airport takes you to this station.  Cost is Euros 2,25.

By Bus
The bus, the A12 Bus, departs from both terminal A and Terminal B, and takes 25 minutes to Barcelona. The buses depart every 12 minutes and the cost is Euros 2.85. The  Bus will take you to Placa Catalunya and along the Ramblas, the very heart of Barcelona, where you can connect to numerous metro services.

NOTE:  the metro DOES NOT RUN to and from the airport.  The easiest routes are using the Rodalies trains from Barcelona SANTS or Catalunya stations.

Barcelona Airport Taxi Fare
All registered Barcelona cabs are black and yellow and a minimum charge applies for all Taxis from the main airport. This is Euros 25 and there are additional charges for bags.  Tariffs are clearly displayed in the Taxis. Mini cabs and taxi touts are thankfully rare, but like any major city we recommend avoiding unlicensed taxis.

Be Careful… like any major city, Barcelona does have a share of pickpockets on the transport services. Make an effort to not look like a tourist, always keep your bag zipped up and close to you, and beware of teams of pickpockets trying to get your attention while their fellow thief steals your wallet!
